I know some of you (like me) are already trying those costumes on and pulling out the camera. So let's get going with the pictures!

I'll start.

Jo, thanks to that picture, my husband is now going to leave me and run off with you. ;) Seriously, he's been wanting to get that costume for himself since he first saw it a couple of years ago. Bathroom humor really isn't my thing and money is tight which is the only reason he hasn't gotten the costume for himself I'm sure. He says I don't have a sense of humor and I say that my sense of humor is just more refined, lol. It's an ongoing argument between us. I think if he had seen the baby version, we would now have it for at least one of our children. I will have to show him this picture. He will LOVE it!!!

ETA: Will post our pics once I have them. We are still missing a couple of things for the costumes.

I love the woopie cushion for a newborn, lol! And great pumpkins (no pun intended)!

Here's DD at a fair this weekend. Fortunately she loves her costume and does not mind the crooked seams etc.

Here's DD in the tutu I made her. DS is going to be the Cat in the Hat but I don't have any pictures of him wearing the costume yet. I am thinking about digging out Noah's old Babystyle fish costume and seeing if it fits DD. It's a size 6-12 so it just might.

yup, we tried to include everyone in her name since we weren't sure if we'd have another or not. So she's Kathlynn (pronounced kathleen) which was my MIL's middle name, the Lynn is my aunt's middle name, Gene is my grandmother and other aunt's middle name, and Anne is my mother's middle name.

Here's my little fairy princess. She wanted to be a butterfly, but I couldn't find any toddler-sized butterfly costumes around here and wasn't feeling creative enough to make one. Luckily she's happy enough just having wings of any sort. ;)

We had to add the long sleeved shirt and black leggings because it's already cold enough to snow here, but I'm holding out hope that the current forecast for 57° is going to be accurate on Halloween, then we won't have to put even more layers on underneath!

Okay, Here's the costume I made Dora. My first sewing project, he he!
The only problem with this costume is that you have to take both front and back view pics in order to see what it is.

Okay, I'm one horrible momma! We went to a fall festival last night and my DS went as a bag of grapes! All the adults loved it; none of the kids could figure it out ("Are you balloon man?").

We don't trick or treat because the great pumpkin comes to our house, so this was the first time my DS has ever "dressed up"!

Hope you all have a great time with your little characters!

It comes with a hat and antennae but I skipped that part because I knew Dora wouldn't keep the hat on. Hence my last minute jerry-rig!

And the tutu: There are actually two types on this link.

I love how it came out!! I made Ellie a ladybug costume last year but I didn't think about adding a red tutu. Dora's costume is just the sweetest thing. And I love the antennae, especially how they match the tutu. I made Ellie's out of pipecleaners and red felt circles. She is wearing the ladybug costume again this year because she is absolutely refusing to wear the darling witch costume we bought her. I might just have to whip out a little red tutu also.

The face paint is actually water-soluble wax pastels that I got from our local art supply store. They are called neocolorII. They are wonderful, all you have to do is dip the tip in a cup of water and start drawing. They wash off super easy with water too. They are made in Switzerland. Here is the website:

http://www.carandache.ch/products/fineart/detail.lbl?g=Classic&p=Neocolor%20II

I saw that they have an actual face painting kit too if you check their website under Junior products. It's probably more expensive though. You can buy the wax pastel crayons individually or as a set. I have the set of 10.

Here's our not-so-amused kitty from today's MOMS Club event.

Hopefully tonight he'll want to wear the coat for warmth :-). But, even so, the costumes are great even without the coat. Love your wagon :-).

>that is adorable. did you make the cosume?

No... sorry to say. I like to sew but 1) I don't have a sewing machine and 2) I'm not sure I have the time with a toddler in the house!

I did however add to the costume.

This is the costume I bought:

(Can't remember where I got it from though. DD wore it for Purim in February! I'm just posting the pix here because I don't recall there being a Purim costume thread.)

I had her wear a white turtleneck/onesie underneath the top, and a pair of thick cotton white tights under the dress and socks. Then she just wore her dressy black shoes on her feet.

Thanks, Marci. It was fun making it!

I don't know--he wouldn't wear it Sat. evening for a party, and it was a lot colder then!

Hope Julia gets happier about hers too. The picture is really cute!

Here's my contribution. Took DD for portraits today - notice that she does not have on shoes and she has a death grip on that pumpkin (which is blocking half her costume). You wouldn't believe what we went through just to get these two pics. She is quickly approaching 2yo and is very fearful of strangers right now. Not a good combo when trying to get some pictures taken. All she wanted to do was sit in my lap or stand there and scream - lol! They asked if I wanted to be in the picture, but I don't think my green shirt with navy blue and white stripes would have fit the theme!

I really wanted a side angle shot so you could see the cute green wings on the back, but we were lucky to get these.

Edited to delete pics

Alyssa - this is too funny. My DS was the fish last year. He'll be the dragon next year (great after Halloween sale at Babystyle last year!!). Plus, we have the same counters!! I feel like you're my long lost twin! :)

I finally finished DS's costume on Saturday. Nothing like waiting until nearly the last minute :).

I guess you have good taste Linda. I already have a fraternal twin, maybe your my identical. Yeah, I need to go check out Babystyles website after this.
