In a job interview thread a little while ago, someone mentioned that they like to see candidates carry a nice portfolio that holds a few copies of their resume and a pad of paper for taking notes. I would love to have something like that (it would be very useful for me far beyond its use in an interview), but I have no idea where to look.

Any suggestions on where to look and what to look for?

I got a really nice leather one for my DH when he graduated from medical school at Things Remembered that had his name engraved on it. That was a couple of years ago but I would think they would still have something like that.

ETA some links: I found tons of options but I tried to list a few of the less expensive ones. HTH!

My first guess would be to check an office supply store. The ones I have hold a legal pad of paper and are definitely not leather (read "cheap"), but classy nonetheless. Here are some from Staples.

And here's a leather one on ebags.
