Riley Jacobus was born at 11:33 last night. He weighed in at 9 pounds exactly. Our Petra tried valiantly for the natural birth she'd dreamed of, but the litle guy was still holding out to stay put, 24 hours after his Mummy's water broke, so he arrived via c-section.

When she is home and settled, not to mention recovered a bit, she'll share the whole story with us.

Hear me out on this one, but I had a dog named Riley all through my childhood (Named after an old movie called the Life of Riley) and he was the sweetest, most gentle and amazing dog. I have some great childhood memories because of that little lab/spaniel mix. So, I have a special fondness in my heart for the name Riley and although it sounds odd to tell a new mom I had a dog with the same name as her baby it really does come from the heart when I say I love that name! ;)

I'll post a new thread w/ pics and a birth story soon - I haven't gotten quite that far yet but have to email them up for my Mom, so you'll all get the cut&pasted version. The short version is that I will always know I tried to VBAC, and while I'll never try that again, I'm thrilled to have gotten the chance.

I'm sitting here all weepy at the BBB love, but I wanted to say to the person (my mind is *still* shot) that had a dog named Riley - I have a special place in my heart for anyone I meet named Heidi, for the same reason, and I completely understand what you mean :)
