View Full Version : HELP! How do you get green candle wax out of cream carpet?

Apparantly DS can reach higher than we thought... Any ideas?

a hair dryer to soften the wax and peel it off as best you can???

Two things:
--put ice on it so it gets super hard and then try to chip it off. I would try this first and get as much off as you can.
--cover with paper towels and run an iron over it (low heat) so that the wax melts and absorbs into the paper towels

The paper towel / iron thing works VERY well. Use a couple of layers of paper towels though so you don't scorch the carpet. :)

this method works great. when i was moving and i had candles they melted in the car. the top of the box fell off and the wax went all over my car. BRIGHT PINK.. using the ice and the iron worked great.. still no signs of wax

I too have used the iron trick but suggest kraft paper instead of paper towels. I read somewhere (maybe Heloise) that it absorbs the color easier.

I've heard this trick many times, too, but always heard to use a brown paper bag. Sounds like you have a few options!
