We'll be doing our first family portrait this year. DS is almost 2. I bought him a sweater vest and button down from TCP and myself and my husband sweaters from the J Crew outlet. I think we'll wear jeans for our picture, because that's more us then something very dressy. Please tell me if you think these will look good together, or if maybe I should get a plain, long sleeved sweater for DS. This outfit will be his Christmas outfit too, but with khakis or cords. What do you think?

DH's sweater is a little less blue-green and more blue then this:

I think it looks nice. Pro photogs will usually say to use solid colors so maybe you could do a solid shirt for dS. Either way I think the pics will come out nicely.

gorgeous! as long as you look great in white, so if doesn't wash you out. my kids and i look good in white, so it works well for us on pictures. i love that DH has the blue from DS's sweater. it isn't all matchy, but it coordinates.

I think the clothes you picked out are very cute. I tend to agree with the pp that you may want a solid thrown in for your son. Maybe at least a solid shirt to go underneath the vest. Also, depending on the lighting and your skin tone, white can make some people look washed out. That said, I've seen some great photos where everyone was wearing a white shirt. I think it depends on the lighting. Talk to your photographer about his/her opinion and their experience about what works best.

I almost got myself a grey sweater, which is my favorite color to wear, but I thought it looked too drab. I think the cream color looks Ok on me, and I like it with jeans. I agree that a solid color shirt on DS might be just the ticket. :) Thanks!

I would go for solid shirt under the vest--the argyle pulls all the colors together. Do you look good in red? That's another color in DS's vest. Or you can go for white and do DS shirt in red with vest (or without). Should be cute.

I think this combo looks great. If you are taking these photos at a studio, you may want to consider what sort of background you will be using. If a plain white background, then you may get lost if you're wearing cream. If more of a holiday or grey background, then I think your combo would work!
