I signed up for a Marathon

Thanks to a few of the mama's (Sharyon and Ry) that have posted recently, I have decided to run a marathon! I signed up for the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Marathon in South Dakota. It will be held on 3 June 2007! I just got my confirmation number and I started serious training yesterday!! I am so excited. My DH and I will be doing it together and my DS will be doing the 5k the day before with my sister of mother. Thanks for pushing me to improve my health and physical fitness!

That's awesome! Congrats on being so motivated and taking that next step. Are you going to keep a training blog or journal? I bet there are some online support groups, too.

Go for it, Mariah! After all the sacrifices you've made for your family, you of all people certainly deserve to do something amazing for yourself! The hardest part is *really* deciding to do it, and it looks like you've already sailed over that hurdle. Good luck, and keep us posted!!

Congrats on committing to a big run like that. I don't enjoy running, but I love the stopping. But the most I've EVER run is a 5k. You're my new hero!
