Where can I find an OFFICIAL list of Birthstones??

Seems like every website has different information listed!!
Is there an Official list for Birthstones?? And, doesn't
each month have a precious and semi-precious stone?

For example:

October-

Precious: Opal

Semi-precious: Pink Tourmaline



Is this right??? I need to find the information for
the month of November.

Well, I usually follow what Hallmark says:

because that is the first place I thought to look. Some months seem to have two stones, others just one.

I used to work at a jewelry store and we always went by:

Jan - Garnet
Feb - Amethyst
Mar - Aquamarine
Apr - Diamond
May - Emerald
Jun - Pearl
Jul - Ruby
Aug - Peridot
Sep - Sapphire
Oct - Opal
Nov - Yellow Topaz
Dec - Blue Topaz

November is traditionally yellow topaz, but more recently it is common to use orange citrine which is much less expensive.

This is where I was getting confused!!

Some websites list the citrine as the November birthstone
and others list the topaz.

And, how did you find out the topaz is supposed to be yellow??
I haven't found a website that lists the actual color of the topaz.
(Just curious since a topaz is available in many colors!!) :)
