We are in the market for a new washer and dryer and I could use some advice. We have it narrowed down to Kenmore or Fisher and Paykel.

Here are the choices we are thinking of......What do you suggest...or do you have another model or brand to suggest?????

We have the Elite Oasis, although ours looks different...I have been very happy with it so far.

I wanted a front load, but I think this one actually held more (and it was on sale). I also didn't want to have to buy the base for the front load to lift it higher.

Oh...I think the difference is that ours has the clear top on the washer- besides that they're the same.

I give the Oasis thumbs up!

We have the F&P Intuitive ones and love, love, love them. Consumer Reports regularly rates F&P in the top 3-5. They usually are ranked at the top too for the best at getting excess moisture out in the spin cycle. The top loading dryer is huge and really cool.

We have had them now for about 15 months, and I cannot find a single bad thing to say about them!

ETA: What I really like about the Intuitive is that it's so easy to switch from efficiency to traditional wash methods. I had read that the Eco is not as simple. Basically, I feel like I have the best hybrid machine with this thing--I get efficiency of a front loader if I want or the effectiveness of a top loader (which is really important to me as a cloth diapering mama).

We have had an F&P Ecosmart washer for about 4 years now and I love it. Our dryer recently died and I couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on a F&P dryer though LOL! I ended up getting a basic Maytag dryer for $400 with all the features I could ever want in a dryer.

We love our Kenmore HE3t, which is the suped up version of this (now the HE4). Four years strong and not a single complaint! You will not be disappointed! Quiet, efficient, savings all around. Kenmore is made by Whirlpool, a leader in quality of manufacturing and longevity, plus they're cheaper to service, although you shouldn't have to because of the attention to detail. The Kenmore HE2 also consistently ranks in the top 10 and was named a best buy one time. I don't have the pedestals and don't miss them really. It's a perfect pair!

My F&P $1500 dishwasher (put in by the previous owner) was such a hunk of junk, and the company wouldn't stand behind it even though it was 2.5yo and dead. I won't ever buy F&P.

We have the Whirlpool Duet front-loader w&d set, and love it! The extended warranty through Best Buy was pretty cheap, too, like half the price of Sears fwiw.

We have the F&P washer and dryer and we LOOOOOOVE them. They're fabulous!! I LOVE the top load washer and dryer - it's so easy to reach into the washer, grab the wet clothes, and dump them into the top load dryer - You never have to bend over, and you don't have to factor in room in your laundry room for opening the washer and dryer doors. I've never understood the draw for front loaders for those reasons, but I tend to be on the lazy side and will avoid bending over whenever possible ;)

You can fit a TON of laundry into both too.

We're really happy with them and will get the same ones in our new house.

Fisher & Paykel ROCKS!!

We moved very shortly after buying a new Kenmore W&D and moved them with us across the country. When we finally moved into a perm home and out of the corporate housing, we bought a house where they were leaving the new F&P washer and dryer. We thought we were going to sell them until we used them a couple times.

The washer cleans great and holds a ton and the dryer dries a whole load in about 30 minutes. I will never own another brand.

(BTW, I have a new Kenmore set in the shed if you are interested ;))
