...what do you clean your brushes with?

My aunt got me addicted to the stuff this past summer, and I just noticed that my brushes could use a good cleaning. Any recommendations?

TIA!

I bought a brush cleaning solution at Sephora that I use to clean all my brushes. I clean them all at once every few months (usually right after I applied my makeup for the day so they have time to dry out) and then let them air dry. :)

I clean my brushes with shampoo or conditioner.

if they are the good natural hair/specialty synthetic ones that BE sells, they used to recommend a good basic shampooing about once a month, reshape and flat to dry. then they came out with their own cleaning solution. i still just use shampoo. specifically, i like baby shampoo the best - no residue or extra hair thickeners, etc. i still have to replace once in a while when they start to get scraggaly/broken ends, but in general, a good cleaning every once in a while makes a ton of difference in the way the brush performs IMO.

I use shampoo, rinse well, and air dry brush side up in a cup. I did see some sort of spray on brush cleaner in the Ulta ad this week, might have to check it out!!!

I always love to see other Bare Minerals addicts! I have turned so many people into users- I was telling the woman at the dry cleaner about it on Friday too b/c she was complaining of her rosacea!

I actually went to a BE store to buy their brush cleaner and the sales lady talked me out of it! All she said to use was baby shampoo and that's what I've been doing for the past 2 years and so far no problems!

HTH!

Baby shampoo. Seems to work well and keeps them soft.
