Can I get multiple insurance cards for DD?

DH and I are not joined at the hip. Sometimes *gasp* HE has her. What if he needed to take her to the emergency room? We just got our new insurance cards and it peeves me since every place requires that you show it. What if I'm out of town for work and forgot to take it out of my wallet for him or vice versa. Making a paper copy of it and one of us carrying that around is a PITA. What do you guys do?

We actually both get a card with all 3 of our names on it. It's just how our insurance sends it. Did you call your insurance company and ask for a duplicate?

Our insurance company (Blue Cross) has given each of my parents a card. I am currently on their insurance and i use the older card. On the card it says it is expired but i have never had an issue because the number is the same as our current card. You should be able to call them up and get another card, i would call them and see what they say.

My card has been missing forever but it hasn't mattered. So long as I have had ds' with me they can access my info since the account information is all the same. I don't think it is really a big deal if you don't both have a copy of her card. They should be able to find her insurance proof based on one of the parents' cards.

It can't hurt to call though if you really want a duplicate.

Just visualize me smacking my forehead. It never occured to me to call them and request another card. Hmm, I might request 2 so I can leave one with my parents who occasionally watch her. Thanks!!!!!

Um, we just made a copy of the card front and back and then "laminated" it using wide clear tape.

We keep DS's card in his bag. Since we always take a change of clothes and some juice (even though he's not a baby anymore), we just figured that would be the place to carry it. Maybe this would work for you?

Just request another card. Some co.s you can even do it online. I lose and find mine all the time so I have about 5 floating around.
