Took DD and StepDDs to Portrait Innovations today to try them out. Thought DD might be more relaxed in that type of atmosphere - well, maybe too relaxed (see pic with bear!). She had no interest in photo taking and only wanted to play with the legos in the waiting area. Here's our Santa pic (Mommy had to provide a barrier between DD and Santa for DD to participate) and the pics from today. The last two are good examples of the whole experience - DD really wasn't in the mood - lol! Think we would have been better in a more confined studio setting, but who knows? At least there is one cute one of DD by herself, but really wanted a good one of the three together - maybe next year!

What a beautiful family! The one with the bear is totally cute.

Here's our santa pic. DS has a look of concern on his face (um, who's this guy, and why are you handing me off to him?), but at least he didn't cry. He also seems to be lacking hands. I guess that's what I get for trusting DH to arrange him! I'll have to see if I can scan in some of DS's 6 month/Christmas pics later so I can post them.

Everyone has such beautiful children, I am so excited to be able to share mine with you all.

No pictures with Santa, but here are some we got of the girls. To be honest we took over 50 shots in about a 30 minute time frame and got one good shot to send to friends and family... It is like herding cats I tell ya... Christmas pictures have to be easier next year or DH and I will divorce over pics. After everything we were very pleased...

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, doesn't DD look just like a princess in that bear picture (hint of sarcasm)? But, that is her personality shining brightly through - lol!

I love seeing all the pics and hearing the stories that go along with them. Makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one whose DC is "like herding cats" - good analogy!

All of the pics are great and everyone has very beautiful children!

Your girls are gorgeous! And I think both pics of your DD alone are excellent (and the ones with her sisters are nice, too, even if she looks royally PO'd in the last one). As far as the mom/Santa barrier - I think that's a right of passage. i have one for each DK - just about your DD's age, too.

Thanks, guys. I totally enjoyed seeing your pics. Christy - the baby in the hatbox pic is too cute and the look on the baby's face is to die for. I LOL when I saw it.

Hmmm...Cat wrangling. I don't remember ever doing that. OK, so maybe I do vaguely, but the painful memories do fade. That comment did remind me of last Christmas, though. My niece and nephew (brother and sister) have DC that are 4 months apart. Last year the girls decided that it would be wonderful to give everyone pics of Anthony and Gracie together. The picture is adorable, but they got 1 good picture out of 3 or 4 SESSIONS. No lie, they tried the portrait studio a couple of times and then finally tried it at home. They were at my house last week and my niece-in-law noticed the picture and laughed. I told her I was just looking at it and wondering if we were getting updated versions this year. Both girls looked at each other and said - NO WAY! Really, now, they're almost 3 now, it would be oh so much easier this year I'm sure!

Maddy's dress is Hanna and J's outfit is OshKosh.
J was supposed to have a matching Hanna vest on for pics but DH is blind and said it wasn't in the car when I sent him out to get it.

Thanks for the compliments, :).

Hey Christy:

Love that first pic - the gift box and pose are great! My oldest stepdaughter suggested that we try to put DD in one of those boxes. Uh, no...I was afraid she would destroy it. She stepped on top of one as it was and the photographer about freaked - lol!

BTW, we tried that same chair as well. As soon as DD's little bum would hit the seat, she'd push off with her arms and be off to another little chair off to the side. Glad you had more luck than I did!
