Removing Bed Rail

When is the right time to remove the bed rail? How do you know?

I just got new bedding for DD's bed and am thinking about removing the guard rail on one side (bed is against the wall). Do I just try it and hope she doesn't fall off? I can't recall finding her asleep right next to the rail recently.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Are you thinking of removing your older DD's bed rail? If so, I think that would be just fine. My kids never fell out of bed, but their beds were never up really high, either.
I think an almost 4 year old would be just fine. I have a friend who has an almost 6 year old that still sleeps with the rails. I personally don't think it is necessary at that age.
