I have come to the conclusion that we need a new nativity scene. We have a beutiful one that my grandparents made that is irreplacable. So we need a cheap not to sentimental one till the kids are more grown and the cats have gone to heaven. Does anyone know who has a nice one for under 30 dollars? the nice one had a wiseman get broken before the children were born so it hasn't gone out in the past 4 years. so we really could use a new one and dd today didn't know who baby jesus was. I need to fix this.tia

We have the Fisher Price version. It was a bit over $30, but they can play with it as much as they want and not hurt a thing.

I put together an extensive list in the Around the House forum, see http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=12&topic_id=62631&mesg_id=62631&listing_type=search.

I got the wooden one from Catholic Supply and like it a lot. Their photo is very accurate. My kids seem to like it too.

My sister has a small traditional resin set that probably cost $10 somewhere. Her kids like that one a lot, and the resin (whatever that is) is very durable.

I found a really cute set on ebay. It was $10 out the door and wooden. The seller said she got it from a church bazaar years ago but I'm sure there are plenty like it. You probably won't have it for this Xmas but it's worth a shot.

I bought this one last year on clearance after the holidays and my daughter loves it.

It is the Hallmark Keepsake Kids Nativity. Of course she at this point calls it her barn, but still. :) I like that it stores all the pieces and it is really kid friendly. I think I paid about $6-7 for it last year. If you decide to wait until after the holidays this year you could probably get a great set somewhere for a really reasonable price.

Good luck and happy shopping!
