I got my early Christmas Present!!!!!!!!!!!

I have two daughters, both were born with Hip Dysplasia. Both wore a harness from birth until about 4 months. Most of the time (70%+) the harness cures the problem and there is no other treatment. Madeline (DD#1) was not so lucky, at 22 months she had surgery and was in a body cast for six weeks. It was the longest six weeks of my life... Her hips are fine now, the surgery was a total success and she has no sign of the procedure except a scar on her hip... (BTW she thinks the scar is cool b/c she is the only one she knows who has one.) We went yesterday to see how Emmy's hips looked, were they shallow, would we be having surgery this summer? To my delight and relief and I must say total shock they look great. We will not be in a body cast in the Texas heat this summer. I am still in shock a little and keep waiting for my Orthopedic Surgeon to call back and say there was a mistake, he hasn't called yet. I kept all the equipment from Madeline's time in a body cast b/c we knew we wanted more kids and just figured we would need it, we are so thankful that we can give it to some other family who is dealing with a body cast.

I cannot imagine a better gift, I feel truly blessed.

Oh my gosh Jane that is great news! I am so glad Emmy will not be needing the surgery and that is the best Christmas gift ever.
