My DS is a nut. He has developed quite the sense of humor in the last month or so. Last night we were out of zippy pjs so DH put him in snap pjs (which I don't really use much). Unfortunately, DH didn't realize that DS's current obsession is with snaps. So, in the 30 minutes leading up to bed it was rip open the pjs, laugh hysterically, run away with the two sides flapping in the breeze.

This morning he gets up and then it starts all over again except, instead of running away it was rip and then two arms up in the air over the head and an expression on his face like "who da man?"

No more snap pjs!!

Abigail likes to lay with this deck of cards I got at my baby shower. It's called "52 activities to do with your baby" (or something like that). It has an activity on the back of each card and a goofy illustration on the front. She loves the pictures and likes to sit and look at the deck and pointout objects she knows.
So toady I go into the kitchen to take cookies out of the overn and strap Evelyn into her seat right outside the kitchen door so I can see her. (Abigail is an "attachment sister" and will try to pick up Evelyn at every opportuntiy). Abigail comes over with her cards, plops down right next to Evelyn and starts starts holding one card at a time in Evelyn's face, about two inches from her nose and saying "What is this? What's that?". It was so hysterical.
I guess i have to get a copy of Einstein never used flashcards for my little mommy. ; )

MIL sent a ginormous Christmas stocking for DD (it is bigger than she is.)

She thinks that it is a hat. She puts it on her head and walks around. It is hilarious!

DS fell and bonked his head the other day. He started crying so I asked him if he was okay and gave him a big hug. About 2 minutes later DH notices that DS is down on all fours, bonking his head (on purpose) on the floor, and then running over to me for a hug- fake crying! That was two days ago and he's STILL doing it, except now he's included banging his head against the wall, too, and when he comes for his hug (usually I'm sitting on the floor) he is staring at my shoulder the whole time, ready to bury his head in it. It's so funny!

**Oh, and don't worry, he's not hitting his head hard- barely bonking at all, just enough for me to "think" he hurt himself and is in need of a hug! Of course my friend pointed out that it's terrible that my child has resorted to beating himself up for attention :-)

DD is about 10 months old right now. She's figured out in the past couple of weeks the game of chase. It's actually quite funny. When I pretend to chase her, she'll start crawling away really fast and every so often will stop to see if I'm still chasing her. It's so adorable. I have no idea how she figured it out. The funniest thing is when she's crawling away. She's quite fast, and she puts her head forward like a bull. Makes me laugh every time.

Umm, does singing 99 bottles of beer on the wall count? I guess so since it made me smile. He was whining horribly in the car the other day and without thinking I started singing it to try to drown out his whining. Oh, and we're going to visit the grandparents over the holidays. So this will probably entertain a whole lot more people soon.

She's hiding our cell phones and taking all the credit cards out of our wallets and hiding them. When you ask where they are? "No wallet, stepascope!" They were in her carrying case for her Doctor play set. :) She has done this three times to DH, each time he can't figure out where they are, THAT is what makes me smile.

Also she is obsessed with anything Christmas, since DH and I like Christmas a lot this is quite fun for us.

My DS does the bonk too! The first couple of times he accidentally bonked I used to say "Uh oh, smooches for the bonk" and now he bonks and runs over for a smooch. He also just likes to bonk his head on me, DH and occasionally new surfaces to see if it hurts.

Okay, I've got one! I was putting DS to bed tonight. We went to the kitchen and I asked him if he wanted the blue binky or the green one (I was holding them both.) He picked the green one, put it in his mouth, then took the blue one and put it in my mouth! Gotta love a kiddo who shares!!

my DS is a dancin' fool. only he doesn't just do some uncoordinated bop and weave, the boy's actually got rhythm (he definitely gets that from me, NOT DH :))! somehow, he's picked up several moves that are too funny, but as far as i know, no one has ever showed them to him. he waves an arm over his head while swaying his hips just in time to the beat and all i can think of is "hanging tough" ala the new kids on the block - you know "ohhh eeee ohhhh eeee ohhh, Hanging Tough!" cracks me up every time. he does just the index finger up on each hand and jives to the beat while turning in a circle - makes me LOL until i tear up. and then he does this two handed club pump/hip hop thing that is just hysterical. anyway, i keep telling DH he needs to get video of it so that we can torture him with it 15 years from now :).

Peyton will watch me tend to Layla, then he'll come over to me and give me a kiss and a hug, and say "You're a good mommie, Mommie. Me love you."

Yeah, I think I'll keep him. :)

Dora used to bring me a book, which meant she wants to be read to. Now's she's progressed to bringing me a book while babbling about something. It means the same thing, but she sounds so much more sophisticated now :-). Also, any time she laughs or giggles it makes me laugh, since she doesn't do it that often.

Aaron crawled up to the window at the same time as our Shiba dog was standing there, two paws on the sill, barking at nothing. DS pulled himself up on the window sill, looked around to see what she was barking at and then proceeded to imitate her barking "Oof Oof Oof Oof". I almost fell over laughing. It was very cute and confused Ginger (the dog) to no end. She stopped barking and started licking his cheek.

I told dd to choose which toys she wanted to give kids who had none. She dumped 3 entire bins into the box without giving it a second thought. I know she's young yet but she really made my heart smile. Her dad used to do the same thing.

Merry Christmas, all.

My DS the Contrarian...

He holds his fingers in "open" position, and calls it closed, and then do the opposite, with a twinkle in his eyes.

If we say something, he'll say "Nooo...".

Some others:

Telling me "You are not good", "I timeout you", "You are naughty", while he is being mischievious.

Opening his mouth really wide and trying to "eat" my/ DH's nose.

Giving me spontaneous hugs, and tells me "I love you" in Indonesian & Mandarin.

Nose kissing me, play with my hair as I hold him, wanting to be held like a baby / swaddled like a baby.

Ds has been doing a lot of singing, but he usually doesn't get the words quite right...

Jingle bells, jingle bells,
oh what fun it is to hide!
(and repeat for at least 30 minutes)
