we're going to buy DD a new lifetime crib and give the crib she's been using to her new baby brother...i want to know what the best way to clean the crib between kids is....he won't be in it until he's a few months old (he'll be with us first) but i want it to be as germ free as possible for him when he does get in it....but i dont' want to kill him with chemicals! any suggestions? FWIW, DS will get his own new mattress...

It never even occured to me to clean the crib between #1 and #2. It's not like it was covered in bodily fluids. However, if you are really concerned, I'd use a mixture of hot water and vinegar to wipe everything down.

Yep, what she said. I wouldn't use anything stronger.

I would think the vinegar/hot water solution would work, and it doesn't have a bunch of toxic chemicals.

Sounds like you are starting to nest ;-)

Yep. It will be safe for you and safe for the baby!

You can throw a couple drops of tea tree oil into the mix too for some extra antiseptic action (though vinegar is supposed to kill germies well by itself). If you don't like the smell of vinegar and/or TTO, peppermint oil added to the vinegar and water would be nice

Seriously I would clean it with a damp cloth and scrub it if it has any sticky dirt.

Life has germs and it's nothing to worry about on a crib surface.

I use baby wipes to clean our cribs. They work beautifully.

I love them most when they are sleeping.--Me

I'd use baby wipes or maybe just a towel and some hot water to wipe it!

I suppose you could use the Lysol wipes and then go over it with hot water to remove any residue! Then let it air out!
