DD2 has a rash all over her head, face, neck, stomach, and back. No sign of it on her arms or legs yet. She does not appear uncomfortable. (still smiling, etc.) She does not have a fever.

I am taking her to the Ped. tomorrow, hopefully. I just wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas in the meantime.

She is breastfed. Would she react like this if she was allergic to something I ate? She has not spit-up or had any poop issues.

Any ideas are appreciated. She seems fine but it does make me nervous because she is so little.

ETA more details:
Went to the ped today who said that it not hives but she's not sure what it is. It could be a reaction to something or it could be from a virus.
It is lots of tiny red/pink marks, VERY slightly raised. I think it is spreading to her leg a little. Her eyes are swollen now and she keeps rubbing one. No puss, crust, or discharge. She's still in good spirits with no fever. We gave her benadryl a few hours ago and there has been no visible change.

my DD was extremely rashy! so i've BTDT! is the rash raised? red? bumps? white patches? purple?

in my dd's case we finally figured out that she was allergic to the fabric softener in OUR clothes...so when we held her she broke out on the skin that was touching OUR clothes. probably not the case for you, though....then there were the rashes caused by viruses (purple) and the rashes from food allergies (when she was older)....

the ped will have the answer tomorrow! i'm sorry your precious pumpkin girl has a rash, though! and i'm glad she seems to be unphased! let us know what the ped says!

I would want to take her to either a ped dermatologist or a ped allergist so that they can properly diagnose your DD. There are so many kinds and causes of rashes that I would think that a proper diagnosis is best left to specialists.

This sounds like a virus. At first I thought food allergy via your milk? Not having been a breastfeeder, not sure if that was accurate so kept my mouth shut. However, now that you say there's a bit of eye swelling, that really sounds virusy to me. We had such a rotten experience with Coxsackie that now I think everything is Coxsackie. Might want to mention this to your Ped. Best time for Coxsackie is summer, but that doesn't mean never in the off season. Hope things perk up!
