how do i split their bedroom? DD needs her space.

We have a 2 bedroom home and 2 dc. DD has decided that she needs her own space. Actually it's not just her. I've noticed that she needs her own space. She's not free to play with her toys with small pieces really. Ds sleeps in our room but his clothes and the changing table are in the childrens room. Dh keeps promising me an additional closet in their room but it has yet to happen.
How to I make this happen for her. I'd like for her to be able to play in her room w/o mikezilla coming in.
Any ideas would be a help.
