Slightly off the topic, but I'm trying to decide between a train theme and a monkey theme. I'm worried the train idea is boring. Anyone have thoughts? My ds doesn't care I'm sure (he'll just be happy to have a party - he's only two), so it's really just for me. :)

I don't have any new monkey songs to add to the previous posts but I had to share:

I had a monkey theme for my DS's second b-day and everyone loved it. The invitation read "Come monkey around for XXXX's 2nd Birthday!" The RSVP said "Can you "swing" on by?"

I used all of DS's stuffed monkeys for decoration. I cut out a bunch of bananas out of yellow construction paper for the monkeys to hold and also hung them from a fake paper palm tree. The giftbags had monkey puppets, a monkey book for the dollar store, some banana flavored jelly bellies and a banana!

I even had DS in a Janie & Jack shirt with a monkey on it. I guess I might have went overboard but it was a fun theme & easy to get into. Sorry if TMI!!

Ralph's World has a song about "live just like the Monkeys".

What about anything from the Jack Johnson, Curious George Movie soundtrack? We confess, Jude (my little Curious George) thinks we put that in for him and it is really music we enjoy : )

There's a song called "Deep in the Jungle" by Joe Scruggs. "Deep in the jungle where they don't deliver mail, three little monkeys were hanging by their tails." It is really fun. Also, there is a song called "By the Way", that is the way life is with a school age kid trying to get out the door. There are so many times, my 11 year has said she needed me to do something for school on really short notice. Just as I'm about to flip out, that song pops into my head and I laugh.
