Since you all are so good at finding things :)

I am looking for a long sleeve black shirt (must have a low neck!) to go under a crochet sweater (and other items I own). I tried it with a higher-neck Spanx shirt and it didn't look right. I want something long sleeved for warmth.

Any ideas?

American Apparel probably has something. Here is a possibility:

They have a ton of basics for layering at the store too.

have you tried searching for ballet or boat neck shirts?

what about a leotard?

the danskin site also has plus sizes if you need.

Absolutely no clue what size you are, but if you are a 14 or up, Lane Bryant (stores or on-line, *not* the catalog, which is a whole different company) has a varitey of basics, and most of their tops are very low-cut.

Thanks. I think I'm a size 8 now. I think a low-cut scoopneck would work. I actually have a scoopneck but even that is bit high and doesn't look quite right.

Beth I was just about to post this when I saw yours. I have an American Apparel store in my office building and I highly recommend them. Cheap, good quality, made in USA and great color selection.

Just a note, you can also usually wear AA stuff backwards as they don't usually have tags in them. I have one shirt that I wear frontways or backwards depending on where I am going. (I have the option of low cut front or low cut back- it really changes the look of the piece and it wears comfortably either way).

Great minds must think alike, Candice. :)
