I have a friend who's a new mom who lives in San Fran on Market near the Ferry Building. I wanted to get her a gc to a spa near her house (she's carless right now due to some health probs) - would love suggestions for a nice place where she can really get some R&R.
TIA!

I think Burke Williams opened in the Bloomingdales mall at Market and Powell. And Bliss spa is in the W hotel near SFMOMA.

Thanks, ladies! Does anyone have personal experience with any of these places? I ask because my friend is a bit older and kind of a laid-back hippie type and I don't want to choose a place that's too trendy or (for lack of a better word) snooty. I want her to feel at home...
Thanks again,

Nordstrom is probably your best bet then. Bliss is definitely trendy. Burke Williams (in LA anyway) is snooty. Nordstrom is more nurturing overall.

I second the Nordstrom recommendation. I feel very uncomfortable in trendy snooty pleaces, and I don't get that impression from Nordstrom Spa.
