My DS has been pestering me on an hourly basis to put out our birdfeeder! He loves looking at all the birds and I have to say that I enjoy it too. Problem is that we have a bunch of squirrels that usually end up eating all the food and scaring away the birds. I don't want to spend a small fortune on a birdfeeder, but would like to get one that is fairly squirrel proof. Many of the ones in the store advertise that they are but I have heard that the squirrels still figure them out. Can anyone speak from experience and recommend one that would work for our situation?

TIA-

The folks at the local birdseed store recommend this for effectiveness and entertainment value. There's a video on the website - the last 10 seconds are the best. :)

That feeder works very good.

You can call an exterminator. If the pest people can get rid of the Queen, sometimes the squirrels will relocate like bees. The Queen is usually the most aggressive of them.

This type certainly does not do the trick. Thanks for the Yankee Flipper video link, Nick loves it!

We have one of these and it is awesome! I thought DH was crazy when he came home with it having spent upwards of $100 on a bird feeder. But it has been worth every penny and more. We love watching the birds. Before we got it, all we had were squirrels.
