Okay, ladies, we tiled our backsplash this weekend and the tile guy is coming back tonight to grout. We went with an ivory tumbled marble set on the diagonal with copper dots every so often. It turned out beautiful and brings out the golden tones in the granite (New Venetian Gold), goes with the cabinets (cider color cherry) and our floors are gunstock. Problem is the grout - if I go with a creamy grout, the tiles kind of blend into one another. DH wants to go with a color called sand but I am worried that it will look dirty on the tiles where there are holes on the natural stone but it will look nice between the tiles. The other options we've looked at either pull pink or are too gray. Would you go darker or lighter???

I'd go darker just because I like the look of darker grout with tile. I don't know how much you'll need to worry about the grout getting stained from splatters?

Since it probably won't get too dirty as a backsplash as opposed to a floor you could go lighter. But, I like your dh's idea.

We just did our own tiling this weekend (bathroom floor) and opted for a grout that was very similair in color to the tile as I hate the look of dirty grout. (More importantly I hate cleaning dirty grout :).)

Have you gone to Lowe's to look at the color swatches of SpectraLock? There are like 20+ colors. I bet you can find some good compromise in there.
