Does anyone belong to freecycle.org

I was thinking of joining. I was a bit worried about signing up for a Yahoo e-mail address. Is the e-mail? Will I get alot of spam if I have this e-mail address? Any other info would be great. Thanks

Yahoo e-mail addresses are free, so you could just use it for freecycling and nothing else. I freecycle, but only get periodic e-mails from the administrator. All ads I read and post are done directly at the Yahoo site, so I don't have dozens of e-mails coming in each day.

Other users do not have access to your e-mail address UNTIL you contact them about an item, but they do see that yahoo address once you do. But, I've used my local freecycle for years and have never had anyone bother me or send me any spam...

Yep, what Laura said. Although I have to *get* anything via Freecycle, I've given away tons of stuff over the past year. It's a great system!
