I washed a down comforter this afternoon and when I took it out, I realised that the rubber gasket thingie that is between the door and the basket is all folded over onto itself. I tried straightening it out to no avail.

Has anybody had any luck with a similar experience?

I called Sears, but they can't get here till WEDNESDAY (!).

I don't have one, but I'm in the market for one, how do you like your's btw? My BF has the same washer as you do and she said that she has had her little baby boy's socks slip under the rubber gasket and get caught beneath the drum. Go figure...She now washes the socks in a lingerie bag. Her's hasn't gotten folded, but it does sound like it can loosen up between the both experiences.

sorry I can't help you out more.

Ann-

Aside from today, I've not had a problem in almost four years with it. I absolutely love it! The one thing that I wish I did was order the pedestal thingies that go underneath the machines.

Because of the way the existing lines were in the basement, there's about 10-12" between the washer and dryer. We have a garbage can in that space, but I still think about how nice it would be to not have to bend down to transfer the clothes from washer to dryer.

Oh, and I recently found a small sock farm flourishing in the rubber gasket too. Something I definitely plan on bringing up with the repair guy!

We have had the occasional sock or pencil(!) escape under the gasket, but it's never folded. Weird.

And I do love the pedestals! No more broken back switching loads...and they're HUGE loads at that.

I hope it gets fixed soon!!
