I have called several YMCA's in our area and no one has a clue as to what I am
talking about. I think it went through a name change and the program is no
longer called Indian Princess.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? And, does your local YMCA
offer this program?

Thanks for your help!! :)

I'm pretty sure ours still does but it has a different name now. I can't remember what they call it but it's a more PC name.

OK, I just looked in the most recent brochure and I don't see it. The only thing I see is Adventure Guides which is for fathers and their children aged 5-9, not just girls. Hmmm? I dunno.

This is what I found on the website for our Y.

"Y Adventure Guides...A volunteer-based program which relies on parents to organize monthly meetings, family outings, and field trips, Y-Adventure Guides helps develop a lifelong relationship between parent and child (grades K-4) as they share quality time together."

eta: For older kids there is a group called Trailblazers.

Awwww... that brings back so many memories!! I was in that program with my dad when I was little. It was such a big deal to get to store "the drum" at your house! :-) And I still remember making animals with pom poms.

Please let us know what you find out!

Ours does. I believe it's the Indian Princess for girls and Guides for boys.
