ETA--- Today is the last day to get matching donations... Ends tonight at midnight!!

I hope I don't get in trouble for posting this here....

If you saw Ellen last week, you have heard that Kevin Bacon has sarted a website to encouarge charitable donations using the 6 degrees of separation of ordinary people. Anyone can create a "badge" that can be attached to a blog or email signature that acts as a conduit for people to donate to the badge owner's chosen charity. To help launch the website, 6 Degrees is hosting a contest until Saturday night and they will match donations (up to 10K) to the charities that recieve the greatest number of individual donations.

A women I know professionally, Ali Edwards is a mom of a child with autism. She started a badge a few months ago and has been feverishly trying to be one of the top 6. She is currently in the number one spot and has raised an amazing 30K for Autism Speaks, an autism research charirty.

(also if you scrapbook you might recognize Ali's name from CK magazine or from her books)

There is sure to be a big push at the end so I am asking you guys to help keep Ali's numbers going up. The minimum donation is $10. Even if you can't donate, tell someone who might be able to---keep the chain of degrees of separation going....

Here is a link to the 6 degree website where you can see the badges of the top 10 and donate.

Ali's badge is called "Ali E." and it benefits Autism Speaks Inc.

If you want to read more about Ali, her scrapbooking and her trials of being a mom of an autistic son, you can visit her blog at
