Should I buy the inexpensive ones at the grocery store or is there a brand that will last longer?

Thanks.

if you or anyone you know can sew they are super easy to sew up, i am making some for myself along with some produce bags. you can also look for the cheap canvas tote bags from places like hobby lobby and such when they go on sale. i have never tried ones from the store so im not sure how they hold up.

I like the $1-2 promotional ones they have at Whole Foods. They are big and have held up well. And if they do break I won't be too mad since they were so cheap! Plus, sometimes they donate the proceeds to charity.

We bought two from TJ's. One was a rectangular tote that didn't really expand, one was a super big one that had a panel on the bottom so you put things like a jug of of milk inside. I also had one from work the same shape, but much thicker material. They don't care what you use. I've used the TJ's bags at Whole Foods, Albertsons, Target, Chinese grocery......

i use book bags, from the VA book festival. but i also have some plain canvas ones from michael's craft store that work just fine. i think some of the stitching came out along the top of the bag, but it doesn't affect performance at all. i do sew and intend to make some, it just hasn't happened since i really have what i need.

the big ol' freezer bags from sams club are AWESOME and really keep food cold, even frozen.

I have a few Chico Bags that I really like. They are a bit more expensive (I got through a coop for ~$3), but I like how small they fold up. I keep a few in my purse, instead of forgetting my bigger ones all the time! I haven't had them too long, but they've held up well so far.

I just used my Chico Bags for the first time yesterday and they're great! They seem very durable and I think I'll have an easier time carrying them with me than I do with my large paper/canvas bag. I always forget to get that one from the trunk.

Here is a link to show you how to make your own. If you have fabric laying around, this would be the cheapest option.

I'm liking my Chicco bags too...I keep one in my purse and one in the car. They fold up really nice and compact.
