...On what to buy. We need it for moderate office use, mostly B&W print jobs with just colour for logos on the letterhead. About 50 prints per week?

HP's are on sale everywhere but epinions reviews are kind of shady.

Also I have no idea about the cartridges, but it looks like the HP ones are crazy expensive, don't last too long and cannot take generic equivalents.

Any BTDT?

Thanks!

Do you need a laser jet or will an ink jet do? Do you need a copier and scanner too? Check and see what Consumer Reports has to say. I personally love HP printers. I make a lot of color copies and replace the cartridges maybe twice a year at the most.

FWIW I don't like Cannon printers, they always were the most troublesome at work.

Definitely check out the replacement parts other than toner. I've purchased several different color lasers for work. Some of them need the drum to be replaced on a regular basis; another one has a "waste" container to be replaced along w/ toner, etc.

Also, compare toner costs - some toners seem pricey or cheap but their life/# of pages is drastically different too!
