I've no idea where to put this post so I'm putting it here, mods feel free to move it if you think there's a better spot for it. We live in AZ & during the summer the inside of the car gets really baking. I keep a bag in there with some bottled water & other such stuff. Even though the bag is lined (sort of insulated) the water still gets very warm. I tried regular cold packs but they ended up sweating all over everything as they melted. Does anyone know of any that are somehow lined or insulated or have a wrap around them so they don't sweat? I don't even know where to begin looking. TIA. :)

I think any ice pack is just going to sweat from the moisture in the air condensing. Maybe just try wrapping a washcloth or a few paper towels around either the ice pack or the thing you are trying to keep dry. Or put the stuff you want to keep cold in a plastic bag with the ice pack on the outside.

We're in AZ too, so I feel your pain. I was chatting about this same topic w/a friend today & she mentioned that her DH had a cooler in his car that is powered by the car's outlet/cig lighter.

Another friend sent me this link below. I haven't started researching yet, but thought I'd pass along incase it's helpful. ;)

Hmm...I've never tried this in the middle of a humid summer, but maybe one of the [link:www.fridge-to-go.com|fridge-to-go] bags would work for you?

Another "Zonie" here! I highly recommend the Cold Seat www.coldseat.com I used it so much last summer and got one for DS's carseat too for this summer. I know that USABaby in Tempe sells it and also Every Mother and Child in Mesa also sells them. They are a little pricey (about $40) but a product that gets used a ton here in the desert.

could you sew little sleeves for your ice packs? maybe hit the goodwill or ross/tjmaxx/etc for some cheapo washclothes. fold them in half, sew the bottom and side and just slip your icepacks inside. or maybe pick up some XL athletic socks at costco and put them in those?
