My DC ran the kids 1k at the Fargo Marathon a few weekends ago. Their pictures just came up and I thought I'd post the links of their pictures.

This is the only one of my DS. He is really into running. He is doing a 5k this weekend in South Dakota.

Here is a close-up of Zsa Zsa. I took her to the very end of the line because there were tons of strollers and since this was her first "race" I did not want her to get run over by the over-competitive parents that were putting bib numbers on their 2 month old babies just to say that they "ran" in the race.

Anyway, my DD was very last and all the volunteers and race directors out on the course were cheering her on. They would fall in behind us and were cheering for her all the way into the stadium finish. By the time we finished, she had about 25 or so personal cheer-leaders. They even had one of the race directors giver her a medal and put it around her neck like she had just won the Olympics!! Needless to say, my DD had a good time and wore that medal for two days!

Here she is at about the half-way mark. This is only about 1/4 of her entourage...

Great pictures of your kids!! Looks like they had fun!

My daughter ran in a one-mile fun run and she was also dead-last. I think
this had to do with the fact that she stopped several times to pet dogs on
the sidelines. :)

Great pics! Your DS's expression is priceless - very intense! Zsa is adorable and probably still feels like a champ! Is that you on her right?

Yes, that's me in my clown outfit!! No really, I've been wearing that to run in (minus the running tights and top - my shirt is a pink that matches the running skirt) since February and my DH never told me that all I needed was a pair of big red shoes and a big round nose with a handfull of animal balloons to top it all off!!! Why didn't he ever say "Look dear, I know you spent a lot of money on the skirt and you like to march to the beat of a different drummer and all, but we need to draw the line at you trying to create your own parade"!!

But anyway, I digress...you can find the skirts at http://www.skirtsports.com/shop/running-skirts.cfm

Mariah! It's great to "see" you and your kids again! You all look great! Sounds like you all had a great time, too! I love that your DD had her own entourage. :)

Thank you so much for sharing and congratulations to both of your DC and to you for being such a great mama! I love hearing about your DS's running and I am so glad that your DD has decided to join him!

I always think of you and your family when I hear about the kids runs that are in my area! I still recall the post about you wanting to get your DS a treadmill and the post about his first race!

What a wonderful gift you are giving to your children by encouraging them to be active and fit and for allowing them to participate in such events!

You are a great mama! Please keep us posted on future races!

Hi Mariah!!!

I am sooo glad that you posted these photos here! I have been having problems with my email lately and haven't been able to open anything. I have been trying to look at the photos for days!!! :( Your kids look great!!!! I LOVE the expression on your son's face ~ he reminds me a lot of Ian when he runs! :) Zsa Zsa looks quite determined, too! So cute! Look at what you are doing...you and DH are raising mini-marathoners!!! :) That was a HUGE incentive for DH and I ~ to finish our training and complete the marathon. Our kids LOVED watching our progress, especially Ian at 3yo! :) You are doing such a GREAT thing for them. I am sooooooo proud of you AND you look AWESOME!!!! I do not care what you say about your running skirt ~ you stand out (plus, you are a trendsetter ~ running skirts are sooo "in" right now!) and, in the end, you are going to get a TON of support from the on-lookers! That will really help at Mile 20. :) GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!! Have I mentioned how proud I am of you?! :) I did see the photos of you and DH and I am sooooo happy that his knee is feeling better. He looked great running into the dome. :)
