Eeek - sent wrong bill via bill payer

I sent the water/electricity bill to the gas company. The transaction has already gone through. What's the chances of getting the gas company to refund the money - it was a lot and would cover gas for the next 9-12 months (we don't use much gas). How stupid of me.

Most utilities will refund large credit balances. I can't imagine you'll have a problem getting the refund.

If it makes you feel any better, I once sent Seattle City Light the amount that was supposed to be for my oil. Like an entire tank, year's worth of oil. Hundreds of dollars. For a $25 light bill. I got the money back...which was good considering there was no way I could pay the oil company without the refund at the time. :P

Thanks Katie. I'm calling them now, it's a large credit balance, so hopefully they'll send me a check. I was in a hurry when I paid the bills and didn't realise until the water company sent me a reminder. I'll have to be more careful..
