Chemical Hair Straightening and Breastfeeding

I am planning to have my hair straight at the salon. I am wondering whether it is safe for breastfeeding. Any suggestions? Does anyone know how long the chemical will stay in the body?

I looked into the Japanese style hair straightening when we were ttc DS. I don't remember or know much about the specific chemical(s), but I know she mentioned to me that anything wonky in terms of hormones can alter the effectiveness. Since with TTC DS we were doing fertility drugs, I wasn't going to shell out $500+ and not get good results, so I skipped it. I wonder if the hormones from BFing could change the effectiveness? It might be something to ask, just in case. I don't know about doing it while BFing from the standpoint of the baby's health.
