Does anyone know where I could buy a Nose Frieda? Its a nasal suction that I have seen comments raving about how well it works for infants with a stuffed nose. I did a google search, but I'm not finding stores that sell it. I'm in the Northern NJ area, but would go into NYC if I have to. TIA

I have used it - my husband hates it, but I think it works great ! My pediatrician recommended it. I would order from that website - I think I paid $20, so its a good deal.

I had not heard of this before - I'm sure it works well and I believe them when they say their filter protects you. But I don't think I could suck snot out my kids' nose using my mouth, filter or not. Ick, ick, ick.

I'm *so* glad that I'm not the only one that had that reaction. ;) :P

If you have a Japanese store near you, you can get something very similar to this for about $6. It looks like this:

http://www.tampei.co.jp/shouhin/lifehealth/mh/g-MH-set.gif

It works on syphon technology. One end goes into the nose (it's bulb-shaped so it can't go in far), that attaches to a little jar, and from the jar another tube comes out and you suck on that. The snot goes into the jar and collects there - nothing goes into your mouth and nothing needs/gets "filtered."

I had major ick factor myself, until I saw how miserable DD was with her first cold. DH had to do it first and when I saw how much snot was sucked out and how much more clear her breathing was and how much more comfortable she was, I made myself get over it. I can't tell you how much this thing rocks over the standard bulb. There is no comparison.

My friend borrowed ours when her DD had a really bad cold (I boil it every couple of days) and she wouldn't give it back, she loved it so much. I had to go buy another one.

Maybe you can print out the picture and take it with you to a japanese store. That way you don't have to try and describe it and get that "you must be crazy" look. I would totally get it - definitely in the "one of the best things I've bought" category.
