Well, I bought DS a Asian pear at a health food store that is not so close to our house. The pear itself costs 1.69. So I am debating on going back to the original store to get more or to try a local
Asian groc. store that is a few minutes closer to the house and might be priced better??? Will I find Asian pears at an Asian market? Thanks!

Yup, you'll find them there. And if it's the sort of Asian market where lots of Asian people shop, the prices for pretty much everything will be better than at a health food store.

Have you asked the produce manager at your regular grocery store by chance? Most of my local chain stores sell them, but they're usually tucked away in their own little spot and not always easy to spot. I didn't realize a couple of the stores I regularly shopped at even carried them until I asked and they pointed them out!

Not sure if it depends on the store, but the Costcos here also carry them in the fall time.

I just bought some over the weekend for $.79/lb at my local Korean market. I also buy them at my larger asian market for about the same price.
