DS figured out how to roll from his back to his front two weeks ago, and since then he's been doing baby push-ups and trying to scoot. But I thought it would be a while before he figured out the crawling thing. Then yesterday afternoon, he was laying in the living room floor, and he just rolled over, pulled his knees up, and took off! I'm not sure who was more surprised - Avery, or DH and me!

He's been practicing all morning. Still kind of slow, and accompanied by lots of grunts and sighs, but it's definitely crawling (not scooting - belly's up, one knee at a time).

I'm off to Target to buy baby-proofing stuff...I thought I had more time!

Isn't it great?! This was by far the most exciting time for us. Well, that and first real live words. But the crawling thing the first time just was amazing. More pix and video than we could shake a stick at. Now that he's mobile, it's a whole new deal. Have fun!

Tells me he's gotten lots and lots of tummy time. That's great. :)

Congrats on a new milestone.

I love them most when they are sleeping.--Me

Yep, lots and lots of tummy time - he's a reflux baby and has never enjoyed laying on his back, so he usually plays on his stomach. Funnily enough, I also think our dog really helped. Avery is fascinated with Tai (our 2 year old pekignese/poodle mix), and he's always trying to reach out and touch him. The first time he rolled over and took off, he was in pursuit of Tai. :-)
