They just started offering TV service in our area, their pricing is very competitive and I wanted to hear opinions on it. We're not really happy with our current cable provider.

We have had it about a month and really like it. Now we're not huge tv viewers, but we do need the high speed internet connection (DH works from home). We switched primarily because Comcast had irritated the beegeezers out of us. Comcast is the only cable choice around here and when we first got broadband dsl wouldn't make it to our neighborhood.

We ditched comcast for internet switching the ATT/dsl back in April when the totally irked off my DH, but then we were still paying out the nose for pretty basic cable. U-verse coming was a great option for us.

For us we are now paying about $30 a month less for our phone/internet/cable and getting better internet speed/service and more cable than we did before (now getting HD, movie channels, music channels etc that we didn't before).

We just got our first HD TV in mid-June, so the need for digital cable was new for us. They first came through selling packages in April and we backed out then because at the time we could not make U-Verse work with our home grown full house DVR system, but by July the technologies had caught up with each other.

The actual product has been great for us. We have continued to use our home grown DVR, so I can't speak to that.

The only drawback we've seen is that they are still working out the kinks as far as setting you up, billing, customer support, etc. They've promptly fixed all of our issues, but they seem a little "confused" still. Such as since we'd canceled our April order there were issues when we tried to reorder in July that the guy at the door couldn't fix, but the sales rep we called had no issue with. They sent an extra (4th) box for our house at install which we sent back, but then the first bill charged us for it, they corrected the bill, but then shut off one of the 3 legit boxes we were using which required another call.

One warning though, the install will probably take several hours. They are still training people, so usually there's an out of towner with the local installer training for a new area. Five of us on the cul-de-sac have had U-verse service started in the past five months and the installs all took 3-5 hours each.
