We have a bunch of competitive games and I thought it would be neat to get DD a "cooperative" game or two for her 4th birthday.

Anyone know of any?

We love, love Haba's Orchard game. I believe we gave it to DD for Christmas almost 2 years ago, so she would have been 3. I can't say enough good things about Orchard (my only gripe would be that the baskets haven't held up well, but that's really not a big deal).

We love the Discovery Toys game "Wild Woods." It can be either competitive or cooperative.

DD likes Orchard but DH hates it because there's almost no actual decision-making. We all like Max, where you're trying to save little animals from a cat. You have choices that matter most of the time.

We play that one a LOT. DH is the only one who has a hard time *not* making it a competition!

We love Hullabaloo. The instructions stress, "and remember more than one player can share the same pad" and the "winner" is whoever is randomly standing on a certain pad. We ususally play it so all the kids do the winner activity (take a bow, do a dance, etc.)

The Princess game is also good:

Since it would be mailed to you, it doesn't really matter if the consultant is local, I wouldn't think. Here's the link to my person's website if you're interested:

Tell her I sent you. :)
