UPDATE #2: Thank you for your prayers!!!! My mom is still swollen, sore, weak, etc. and also has a fever this evening. That said, she is ALIVE and quite communicative. It was great to spend an hour or so actually communicating with her and I'm so excited to see her again tomorrow.
I am so grateful for your P&PTs! Please keep 'em coming, okay?
Stephanie

UPDATE: I'm sorry I couldn't be in touch before now. The surgery itself went quite well on Wed. morning. Only my dad was able to see her post-op and he said that depsite his mental preparation, he was still horrified to see how badly she looked. That said, she remained stable throughout the 6-hour surgery so that was great.
Yesterday (TH), however, was horrific. They had to resuscitate her after a dramatically perilous drop in blood pressure (ironic for a woman with alarmingly high BP the rest of the time). The doctor said that if she had not been in the ICU with a nurse by her side, we likely would have lost her. I can't even believe I'm typing these words. We are just praying she remains stable and continues to improve each day.
The doctors are changing around needles and tubes this morning (both arms, groin, neck, nose, etc.) so I will wait and go back to the hospital this afternoon.
It all seems so surreal. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts...and thank you so very much for your support.

My mom is scheduled for an incredibly risky operation tomorrow morning, November 7, at 9:15 Eastern time. She has a large AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) and advanced PAD (peripheral artery disease), as I have mentioned once before on these boards, and I would be so very grateful for any prayers and positive thoughts you could send her way.
We are all holding our breath, trying to have faith that she will be okay.
Thank you so much,
Stephanie
