We're leaving for our Thanksgiving trip this weekend - hooray!

Does anyone have a favorite or two in Charleston? We were there for a very rainy day last year, and missed out on doing a house tour - which are the best homes to see?

I've heard great things about the aquarium & children's museum, and we'll definitely see the Angel Oak this time.

I've rented a jogger for the beach (we're staying on Kiawah) have ordered bikes to be waiting for us, am taking a Micro for tooling around & will probably pack a carrier to have just in case.

All I have left to do is some event planning, meal scheduling so I can make a large, one-trip grocery list, and, of course, pack for 4!

Wish me luck & TIA!

I went to Charleston for the first time last year for the Family Circle Cup, and I fell in love with the city.
The Middleton Place Plantation was a great tour. I even saw Caroline Kennedy there with her family!
We also rode bikes through Mt. Pleasant which was nice, and they even had a little ice-cream shop there that would be great for kids.

We did one of the night time walking "Ghost Tours" that was a lot of fun. Obviously you also have to do a carriage ride. Checking out the market is fun too.

A dinner at Hyman's Seafood is a MUST http://www.hymanseafood.com/ - and if you can get to a dinner w/o kids - Slightly North of Broad (SNoB) is highly recommended from me. http://www.mavericksouthernkitchens.com/snob/index.html

edit: forgot to add Hank's as another must eat at w/o kids if you can swing it. http://hanksseafoodrestaurant.com/

Also just noticed you're staying on Kiawah - that's where we've stayed in the past too (love it btw) - the Red Sky Grill just outside of Seabrook is GREAT too (I'm assuming it's still there).

We stayed at Isle of Palms two summers ago and it was fantastic. Sarah really enjoyed the Aquarium.
