How to dispose of compact fluorescent light bulbs w/ mercury in them?

We long threw the packaging away and dh noticed that the bulb said it contained mercury. Is there something special we need to do when we throw it away? Something else we should do with it?

Good question. We take ours to Ikea. You can also take batteries there. You might google your local department of waste/recycling.
