View Full Version : Are you allowed to use a futon for a toddler?

Gosh, I feel so badly asking this question, like it should overtly obvious to me that you can or can't. We do have twin bed, but were considering skipping the frame...Just using the mattress until he's not such a thrasher in bed. But we also have a futon/loveseat that is really low to the ground and it's full size. Are futons bad?

First, I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I don't see why a futon would be substantially different from a regular bed. The fact that is it lower to the ground would be a big selling point for me. I do understand your hesitation - there are so many experts telling us what we can and can't do and not all of it is common sense (I talk to all my childless friends and they say things like, "really, you can't give an infant honey!?") But, I don't think that is the case here.
