Transitioning from crib to big girl twin size bed...

Do any of you have recommendations on what kinds of mattresses are good for little kids? Firm? Soft? Do I need an expensive one, or a basic fine?

Thanks in advance for any insights you can provide!

You need a cheap one because you will have to replace it once they discover they can bounce on it. LOL! :) Seriously, kids are so light they don't need the support an adult does. My dd has already discovered that falling on the bed is fun, bouncing can't be too far behind. I figure that I'll need to replace dd's mattress when she is about 6. So I picked the lightest I could find since I was going to be changing a lot of sheets between now and then.

We just picked up a twin set (mattress and box spring) at Slumberland last night for $260. My mom had a 50% off coupon since she was buying herself a new mattress so it really only cost us $130. We bought the one called 'My First Sealy'. The mattress and box spring are blue, well made and have breathable material versus polyester on the top so it won't be so hot when it's warm and humid outside.

Initially we picked that one because it just *felt* the best.
