I was surfing the net today and came across the following sneakers/sandals at Land's End.

Yesterday, I received a notice from preschool that no one is permitted to wear sandals to school during the summer. I am going to find out about sandals with the toes covered such as:
http://www.striderite.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=322&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=5&iSubCat=38&iProductID=322

If not, I thought these sneakers might work. My only concern is if they will fit now and through the summer. I had Bryce's feet measured on May 1st at Stride Rite and he measured a 10 wide in sneakers.

Unfortunately, Lands End doesn't come in wide or 1/2 sizes. Do you think I should try the 10 or go to 11?

Any help or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The sneakers do run a bit wide, we have the regular sneakers also and they are much narrower than the beach trekkers. I would order both and return the size that doesn't fit to your local Sears. They are very breathable, but without socks, I think little feet would get too sweaty on a day to day basis.

I would call CS and have them measure the shoes for you rather that order two pair. Just seems easier to me.
