View Full Version : These are a few of my favorite things
Thought it might be fun and useful to share some of our favorite toddler clothes, etc.
LLBean two-piece pjs--cotton for summer (covered waistband!) and fleece for winter
LLBean fleece jackets w/ hoods
Lands End shoes (Cheaper than Stride Rite, but still fit my DS' wide feet)
Hanna Anderssen deck pants (I bought big last summer and they were looong and he's still wearing them--no fading either.)
Lands End Overstock page (I've found some great prices on coats and t-shirts)
I'd love to hear your favorites!

I really like
Lands end Underwear for DS - no stupid characters, but he still likes the patterns. And a great deal when you get them on the overstocks page.
Target $3 t-shirts - DS loves to dump dirt over his head - you can't beat a $3 shirt.
Good Nites underwear - Fit way before they say they will, great for nighttime
Mini Boden jersey shirts
ETA: Osh Kosh B-gosh belt - saved a whole bunch of pants that the waist just ended up being too big

Gymboree leggings - great fit, comfy, easy-to-remove for potty training
Gymboree tankini - covers belly, yet great for potty training
Lands' End parka - warm, yet not bulky
Lands' End fleece jacket - warm, comfy
Stride Rite shoes/boots/sandals - flexible and cute, available in wides
Gap/Old Navy 2-piece cotton PJs - cute, comfy, not-too-tight

Talbots Kids elastic waist twill shorts (they wash and wear great and are good for potty training)
Jumping Jacks Perfection shoes (super flexible and cute)
Gap 2-piece PJs (I've tried many brands and these are my favorite by far - soft, cute and tight but not too tight)
Gymboree fleece jackets for fall
Gymboree cuffed socks
Quilted flannel shirts (last year from Gymboree - I thought we wouldn't use these, but DS wore them all the time as a pseudo coat when it was brisk but he didn't need a hood/hat)
Lands End climber pants
Lands End squall parka
Gymboree cuff socks
Stride Rite shoes

Almost anything Hanna Andersson- they just hold up so well!

I also LOVE the LLBean fleece 2 piece pjs (I was hoping they would go on sale like they did last year).
L'Amour fall/winter shoes
Stride Rite sandals
Target heavy weight footless tights
Baby Lulu Tee dresses
Walmart knit cotton shorts to wear under casual dresses ($2.88)

Because of this post, tonight when I was at Target I bought some footless tights. But I don't have a clue what to do with them! :P How does your DD wear them?
I figured since I LOVE everything else on your list I should give them a try!!

I put them on DD when she is wearing casual dresses and jumpers and it is too cold to be bare legged but thin tights/hose seem too dressy and aren't durable enough for play. For instance last fall she wore the cream color with her Pingorama pumpkin dress and a handpainted pumpkin dress. I also put a white pair on with Bailey Boys and custom made jumpers (long sleeve tees or turtlenecks underneath the jumpers). She then wears socks and a more casual shoe. They are great because she can wear dresses but still run, crawl, climb, and play! When she wore one of these outfits to playgroup everyone wanted to know where to find the legging tights.
HTH, if I wasn't specific enough or didn't really answer your question let me know.

When you see them at Target, grab the colors/sizes you think you might want because they can be hard to find and sell out.
I'd better check my stash! : )

Never tried Stride Rite (they always seemed like they have the market for this brand and they act like only they make good shoes- I don't know why I have that impression!). They make cute, good shoes but they don't get my vote. :)
We love our Teva sandals and Nike tennis shoes
Little Tikes (Carters' Target spin off) 2pc PJs
Gap jeans, khakis and t-shirts
I like the bargain of the $3 Target Ts but the quality isn't awesome. Good enough though!
Lands' End clothes are always well made and comfy looking.
We have our shopping nitches and that's it- Gap, Target, Lands' End, Old Navy occasionally and the independent show store. Kohl's was great for a while but now they don't seem to have as many thing in his size, for that great price they had when ds was liittler.

Babystyle's "Softest" play clothes - gorgeous colors and generally last well. Plus, they really are soft. It's hard to find pretty colors for a boy, so I pretty much buy out their selection every season.

See Kai Run shoes
