Nick still isn't good with buttons, so I am search of jeans with elastic all around the waist. Suggestions? BabyGap didn't have anything.

I buy my son's at Wal-Mart & Target. They aren't fancy, but they meet our needs.

LE climber pants. There are some good ones on overstocks right now.

My son has a pair from Mervyns, if you have their stores in your area. Or I'd try Oshkosh.

How about Babystyle or LL Bean or Talbots?

The only jeans that worked for us were Osh Kosh. Found them at Kohl's and at the outlet.

Do you have a Gap Outlet near you? They do have ones with elastic around the waist (but they also have a button) with a little teddy bear on the waistband, and soft gray lining. So comfy! My son went through a total of 6 pairs of these jeans - we bought them in 6-12m, 12-18m, and 18-24 mo - and I am so disappointed that they don't make them in toddler sizes. I think I purchases them for 14.99 at the outlet.

What she said, lol! We've gotten lots of carpenter-style, full elastic waist pants for Daniel at Target. They were around $6 - 8/pr and worked great for our needs. I've got the cutest all-boy jeans for him, wide leg, all the pockets, some cool brand I can't remember at the moment, but he can't manage the zipper and button yet. :( I need to go back to Target and get some 5Ts...
