Is there any any safe way to feed a toddler lettuce? We eat a lot of salad at our house and I've been trying to feed Colin the same food that we eat as much as possible. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to give him lettuce without it being a choking hazard. So far, I've torn it into teeny tiny pieces and he really seems to like it, but I've been making the pieces so teeny tiny (like 1/4 inch square) that he has a hard time picking them up. And honestly, it's really a pain to get the lettuce that tiny. Do the pieces need to be that small? Should I just give up on the lettuce until he's older? Any other ideas?
Thanks,

My daughter has been eating lettuce from about your son's age. I give her the "spine" portion of the lettuce - the thicker the spine the better she likes it. We mostly eat ceaser salad around here, so she mainly gets romaine and not iceberg lettuce (I'm not sure if that makes any difference at all).
