We just had Julia's 2 year Ped visit and I forgot to ask if we should switch to 2% milk. We actually already did switch but I wanted to double check.

When did you (or plan to) make the switch? If Julia is at a healthy weight, do I really need to ask the pediatrician?

TIA~

My ped told me that it was okay to switch at 2 as long as I was sure DD was getting enough fat in her diet. DD eats lots of cheese, plus she eats crackers and cookies that have fat as well. I wasn't worried :) so we switched.

At 2, my ped said we could use 1% or 2%, just not nonfat. He also did say something about her being of normal weight, so I think if she had had a history of weight gain issues, he may have recommended continuing whole milk.

2%?? Oops, we switched to skim at 2. I'd considered keeping my smaller than the 15% toddler on whole longer, but I guess I must've stopped buying whole..... whoops!

We switched at 2. Honestly, she will even drink skim.
