Should I change to 2% milk? I forgot to ask the doc at our 2y check. DD only drinks one cup in the morning.
TIA

We switched shortly before the 2yr. mark. I think they usually recommend switching because they don't need as much fat as they used to. If your DD doesn't have any issues with being underweight it's probably safe to switch without asking the doc.

Yes, our ped. said to switch (again, as long as your DD isn't underweight). You might want to mix the milks for the first couple of times. Not being a milk drinker, i didn't realize there was that big a difference, but DS would ask for milk, I would give him the 2%, and he would ask for milk again, with more emphasis.

With DD I switched to 2% at age 2 and skim at age 30 months.

We're still doing whole milk, because DS is very skinny, and he doesn't eat a lot of food with fat in it. DS is 27 months old, and I'm probably going to keep him on whole milk and full fat yogurt for the forseeable future.

Joshua is 2 1/2, but I still give him whole milk. He is a terribly picky eater, and as I see it, he would waist away to nothing if it weren't for the added fat from the milk :). I just think it gives him the added boost he needs. Hopefully as he gets a little older, he will begin eating better and I can swith to 2%.

I think I switched mine to skim. It's all a blur. They grew fine.... LOL

Our ped said we could even go to skim, but we're sticking with whole for a little while. Lane was just under 25.5 lbs at his 2-year visit so I figure that extra fat can't hurt. We also still use butter pretty liberally.
