If so what kind and how often? I just started DD on a chewable vitamin and of course am second guessing myself : )

Thanks!

We started Sarah on vitamins about a month or so ago, though I must admit she is better about remembering to take them that we are. We had gotten some chewables from Trader Joe's and after a few days (gotta love toddler fickleness ;)) she decided they were "yucky!" so we moved on to some gummy ones (forgot the brand - we got it at Target), and she really enjoys those. Because Sarah's fruit and veggie intake is sporatic, her ped said we could introduce them. I must admit I haven't done any research on vitamins, so I'll look forward to reading other responses.

Nope. The ped said as long as he keeps eating a healthy diet and we make sure to include fruits and veggies, the vitamins weren't needed. Of course, my kids will eat almost anything put in front of them and love fruit and veggies, so it isn't an issue. If they start to go through a picky phase, we'll introduce the vitamins.

No, no vitamins. DS eats plenty of fruit and veggies, and neither our ped nor I see any reason to supplement.

DS's ped recommended 1/2 a chewable each day when DS turned either 18 mos. or 2 years.

I've been giving DD half a Flintstone chewable.

Lindsey refuses to eat almost all vegtables and some fruits, so we decided a vitamin was probably in her best interests. If she ate a reasonable amount of veggies and fruit, I probably wouldn't bother with it. We give her one of the My First Flintstones vitamins daily, which is equalivent to 1/2 of most of the other children's chewable vitamins.

I have not. We haven't had vitamins in the house since the TriViSol days early on, for iron. Once DS starting eating meat, we dropped it. He has been much more reticent to eat his veggies, though, recently so perhaps we'll look into it again.

DS is 21 month old now, and I started giving him vitamins when he was 19 months. He was going through a picky phase. I use the Flintstone vitamin and I give it to him one every other day, because a number of things on it was supposed to be 150%. Those vitamins were recommended for age 2 and above. DS also takes Calcium chewable because he was going through a phase where he would not drink milk but he is getting better about that after DH relented to add Ovaltine to his milk.
